Wolves 0-2 Arsenal: Gunners keep title hopes alive with comfortable win
Leandro Trossard's first-half goal and Martin Odegaard's second-half strike seal three points for Mikel Arteta's side
Bukayo Saka also impressed as Arsenal continue their push for the Premier League title
Arsenal kept their Premier League title hopes alive with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday. Leandro Trossard opened the scoring for the Gunners in the 23rd minute, coolly slotting home after being set up by Bukayo Saka. Martin Odegaard doubled the lead in the 55th minute, firing home from close range after Gabriel Martinelli's shot had been parried by Jose Sa.
The win moves Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League table, one point ahead of Manchester City, who have a game in hand. Wolves remain in 19th place, four points from safety.
Arsenal were in control of the game from the start and could have taken the lead earlier when Saka hit the post from a tight angle. Trossard eventually broke the deadlock with a clinical finish, and Arsenal never looked back.
Wolves offered little in attack, and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was rarely tested. The Gunners continued to press for more goals, and Odegaard eventually doubled their lead with a well-taken goal.
The win was Arsenal's third in a row in the Premier League, and they will now be looking to continue their good form when they face Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium next Sunday.
