Scott McLaughlin Secures Pole Position

Full Starting Lineup Revealed for 108th Running of Iconic Race

INDIANAPOLIS, May 22, 2024 - Scott McLaughlin will lead the field to the green flag for the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. The Team Penske driver secured pole position with a four-lap average speed of 234.452 mph during Saturday's qualifying session.

McLaughlin, a two-time Supercars champion, will be joined on the front row by reigning Indy 500 champion Josef Newgarden. Newgarden, who won last year's race from the pole, will start alongside McLaughlin in the No. 2 Chevrolet for Team Penske.

The second row will consist of Arrow McLaren SP drivers Pato O'Ward and Felix Rosenqvist. O'Ward, who led in the closing laps of last year's race before crashing, will start third in the No. 5 Chevrolet. Rosenqvist, a former IndyCar Series champion, will start fourth in the No. 7 Chevrolet.

The 2024 Indianapolis 500 will be the 108th running of the iconic race. The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 29, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
